This product saved 25+ hours per month of manual effort and reduced request lead time by 96% in most cases. Worked closely with several network engineers to improve server performance and idle time reduction. Implemented Weighted Least Connections (WLC) load balancer to replace vanilla round robin, saving $10,000 per month and reducing average server load. Used Sumologic and Datadog extensively to monitor codebase and server performance, creating several visually striking dashboards which were used by more than 100 engineers in their workflows, and used the results to improve performance on the querying product.

Some Projects

Some cool and interesting projects I've worked on!

Trackle.IO

Alternative Peripheral usage interface - Winner @ Hack the North 2018

Built custom Machine Vision peripherals interface using camera and audio input to allow computer users with Carpel Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) and Upper Cross Syndrome (UCS) to control their computers. Created as a keyboard and mouse replacement for individuals with disabilities and restricted movement capabilities. Used Python, and OpenCV to implement rudimentary Machine Vision algorithms to create usable output.

Musify

Smart music transcription service

Musify is a smart transcription service for music lovers both amateur and experienced. Users can upload files of their favorite songs, and our application transcribes the audio into sheet music from the comfort of their own browser. As music lovers ourselves, as well as aspiring software developers & data scientists, we wanted to learn more about data science in a fun way that would be useful to ourselves and others. By using a combination of complex Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) algorithms to estimate the pitch of the sounds, as well as use our own data estimation algorithms to retrieve the notes from said pitches, we learned a lot about audio analysis and data science.

Crypterra

1st @ CUTC Nationals

Crypterra is a business-first asset management platform that utilizes the Hyperledger Composer and Fabric frameworks to securely hold assets and records on a decentralized blockchain platform. As an extension of Hyperledger’s enterprise-friendly open-source structure, Crypterra caters to new businesses unfamiliar with blockchain technology by providing them with a convenient and user-friendly data upload system, which supports upload of data from Excel spreadsheets, which is then parsed and added to the Hyperledger network. Additionally, the Crypterra platform creates an account and identity for every company and employee after parsing the information it receives from the excel worksheet. This allows for companies and employees alike to transact amongst 5 currencies (BTC, ETH, CAD, USD, GBP) within the platform and have their balances reflect accordingly.

My team won first place at the Deloitte Blockchain solutions for Business competition in May 2018, earning recognition for the proprietary implementation and nuanced features.
